When Bred got to the cell area, he skidded to a halt.

Kizzy sat on the floor in front of the cell bars, weeping.

His gaze rose to see that Brian was hung from the top bar with a belt. He had hung himself with Matt’s bloody belt apparently. His face looked purple and his eyes were open while staring at the nothing of death. Breed sighed and knelt down to take Kizzy in his arms.

“He hung himself!” she cried.

Breed held her sobbing form close.” I know, baby. I’m sorry.”

She sniffled through her tears. “I-I know he was an awful person. I know it. B-but he was all the family I had left—I didn’t think he would do t-this!” she cried out.

“He didn’t seem the type I know.” He looked over to the cell. “But he was a proud man and probably refused to face a trial.” Breed had to figure that Brian had waited until Greer and the men had taken the bodies away, but he must have stolen Matt’s belt before they arrived as he had been stripped of anything like that when he was first tossed in here. His gaze narrowed at something in Brian’s hand.

Kizzy straightened her body and let out a heavy sigh. “I-I didn’t feel much when you told me Joey had... But I feel grief over Brian. I just can’t help it. He’d raised me since I was little.”

Breed stood her up. “I get it.”

Her tear stained eyes looked up at him. “You do though, don’t you?”

He shook his head, “Kizzy—”

She placed her fingers on his lips, cutting his denial off. “You have a brother. In fact, he’s your only brother. Your only sibling too. You then have to decide to...” Her voice fell away.

He swiped the tears from her face. “I won’t be deciding that. I can’t. My MC brothers will do his tribunal.”

“But still. He saved your life today.”

Shrugging, Breed didn’t like this subject, so he stepped away, bent down to the bars, and took the item he’d spotted from Brian’s hand. He raised up a small piece of paper.

Kizzy looked startled. “What is that?”

He glanced at it for a long moment then handed it to her.

Kizzy gasped as she stared at it and read it aloud,

“Dearest Kizzy,

I know I failed you and your father. I am not sorry about my life, but I am sorry that I didn’t do right by you. Please tell my secretary that I bequeath all my wealth to you, as I know she has the codes to my accounts. And you are to have your trust as well. I know you won’t want my money, but do something good with it. Help orphans or those kids Breed saved or give it away to the poor. I hope and trust that you will now have the life you deserve. Be happy and forgive me someday, if you can.

Your grandfather,

Brian Philip Williams”

Kizzy took a deep shuddering breath as shock was written all over her face. She slowly gazed up at Breed.
